Every screen in Dealerts is now available in German. There is a language picker at the top of Settings: choose a language, or leave it on System Default and the app follows whatever your phone is set to.
Alerts too
The part that matters more, since it is the part you actually read. A found item, a price drop, an ending auction — all of it arrives in your language, not just the screens you visit afterwards.
Prices and dates are formatted the way you expect them, rather than translated word for word. €1.299,50 rather than EUR 1299.50; 14:30 rather than 2:30 PM.
The Hub
Hub articles can now be written in more than one language. If an article has not been translated yet you still get it in English, with a note at the top saying so, rather than finding nothing there.
Also in this release
- Changing a search’s eBay marketplace now clears its categories. Categories are specific to each eBay site, so keeping them meant searching the new site with the old site’s category IDs — which quietly returned nothing. You get a heads-up when it happens.
- Sending a test search now shows progress on the search card, so it is clear something is happening, and a second tap cannot fire a duplicate.
What is next
French, Italian and Spanish. Adding a language is mostly translation work now that the groundwork is done, so they should not be far apart.
Update the app to get this. New versions roll out through the App Store and Google Play.
