A search can go quiet because of how it was written or set up. Commas without brackets make it need every word. A price range can be too tight to catch listings a little above or below it. A category can be missing on that eBay site. Check Searches finds these problems and gives you a button to fix each one.
What it checks
The keyword. It fixes misplaced operators, such as missing or extra
brackets, OR or NOT typed as words, and a minus sign inside a choice group.
It shows your current keyword above the suggested one and says what it fixed.
It changes the operators and keeps your words. Update This Search saves the
fix, and Undo puts the old keyword back.
The settings. Whether the search is paused, whether it runs less than 8 hours a day, whether the price range is narrow, and whether its categories exist on the search’s eBay marketplace. Each problem comes with a button that takes you to the fix.
Check your searches walks through a whole run.
Where to find it
- Check Search in a search card’s ⋮ menu checks that one search.
- Check Searches in the ⋮ menu at the top of the Searches screen lets you pick several and go through them one by one.
- An empty Found tab offers a check, and so does Not getting notifications? in Settings, under Support & Feedback.
- In the search editor, Check Search checks the search before you save it.
You can check 20 searches a day, on any plan.
Write Keyword
When a keyword is too broken to fix, you can describe what you want in plain words, for example iPhone 17 or 18 Pro, not broken, no cases, and the app writes the keyword for you. It lists what the keyword must contain, what it accepts and what it leaves out. Write Keyword is also in the editor when you create a new search.
Also in this release
- The search card’s ⋮ menu is now in three groups: Pause, Edit and Duplicate; then Check Search and Send Test (previously just Test); then Delete on its own.
- Fixed a bug that could change a search when you saved it. A choice with a
space in it, like
(dos, big box), was saved as(dos, big, box). That madeboxon its own a match. Choices with spaces are now kept as you typed them.
Update the app to get this. New versions roll out through the App Store and Google Play.
